Meeting of International Academic Committee of China-CEE Institute, 2019

 

Meeting of International Academic Committee of China-CEE Institute was held successfully on 18 Dec 2019 in Beijing. 5 Members of International Academic Committee of China-CEE Institute, including Huang Ping, the former director-general of Institute of European Studies of CASS, Chen Xin, Executive President, and Managing Director, China-CEE Institute, Deputy Director-General, Institute of European Studies, CASS, Bogdan Góralczyk, Director of the Centre for Europe at the University of Warsaw, Gheorghe Zaman, Correspondent member of Romanian Academy, Director of the Institute of National Economy and Marek Hrubec, Director and Senior Research Fellow of the Centre of Global Studies, Czech Academy of Sciences attended the meeting. In addition to this, Márton Ugrósdy, Director of The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, László Vasa, researcher of The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Viktória Anna Papp, International Relations Manager, Antall József Knowledge Centre also participated in the meeting.

Chen Xin made a presentation about the work of China-CEE Institute in 2019 and asked for suggestions about the 2020 work plan. In 2019 China-CEE Institute organized many academic activities: firstly, 4 international meetings and 3 workshops had been held; secondly, 7 lectures had been held and more than 10 working papers had been published; thirdly, until 13 Dec 2019, 608 weekly briefings had been published. Weekly briefings achieved full coverage of 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and Greece thanks to the joining of researchers from Latvia in this year; fourthly, 8 books had been published and 6 books to be published. Among them, the book entitled The China and Hungary: 70 years of bilateral relations in a changing world was published in Chinese, Hungarian and English; fifth, 5 research project has been tendered and 4 of them have been finished. In a word, 2019 was a fruitful year and we will continue this work in the next year.

 

Participants discussed the working plan of next year and look forward to the continuous growth of the China-CEE Institute.
