BOOK LAUNCH – 70 Years’ Bilateral Relations in the Changing World: China and Hungary were successfully held in Beijing on 18 December. Olivér Joubert, First Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Embassy of Hungary in Beijing, Chen Xin, Executive President and Managing Director of China-CEE Institute, Deputy Director-General of Institute of European Studies of CASS, Márton Ugrósdy, Director of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Guo Xiaojing, Deputy Director, Hungarian Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Viktória Anna Papp, International Relations Manager of Antall József Knowledge Centre attended the book launch and gave speeches.

The book was jointly published by China-CEE Institute and the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary with the support of the Embassy of Hungary in Beijing and Hungarian Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary, the book was published in Chinese, Hungarian and English.

Olivér Joubert, the Political Counsellor of the Hungarian Embassy in China, thanked all sides for their support and hard work, at the same time emphasized the important role of economic cooperation and cultural exchanges in Sino-Hungarian relations.

Chen Xin agreed with Mr. Olivér Joubert and also thanked all sides for their hard work in publishing this book. China-CEE Institute and the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade launched a call for papers in the spring of 2019. Based on these qualified papers, we co-hosted the symposium entitled “70 Years’ Bilateral Relations in the Changing World: China and Hungary ”in Budapest in September 2019. Afterward, this paper were revised and finalized by our 2 institutes. Finally, the Chinese version was published by the China Social Science Press in Beijing, the English version was published by China-CEE Institute in Budapest, and the Hungarian version was published by the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hungary in Budapest.

More than 40 participants from University of Warsaw, the Academy of Czech, the Academy of Romania, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Institute of European Studies of CASS attended the book launch.
