Round-table talk on “The Ten Years of the Belt and Road Initiative and Sino-Hungarian Relations”

 

On 27 September 2023, the China-CEE Institute held a roundtable talk on “The Ten Years of the Belt and Road Initiative and Sino-Hungarian Relations”. Dr.Ju Weiwei, Vice-President and Manager Director of China-CEE Institute, moderated the conference and delivered an opening remark.

 

 

The participating experts had in-depth discussions on China-EU and China-Hungary relations in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Hungary cooperation in the fields of new energy, digital economy, and financing services, as well as the different perceptions of the Belt and Road among the EU countries. Prof. Sándor Zoltán Kusai, former Hungarian ambassador to China, Dr. Eszterhai Viktor, research director of Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, Dr. Csaba Moldicz, head of the school of international relations Mathias Corvinus Collegium, Prof. Ferenc Banhidi, researcher at Pazmany Peter Catholic University, Ms. Tan Miao, deputy head of corporate banking department at Bank of China (CEE), and Dr. Langjia Zeren, Assistant Researcher of the Institute of European Studies in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), delivered speeches at the conference. Staff members of the CEE Institute and journalists from Xinhua News Agency and Economic Daily participated in the meeting.
