Call for Proposal of Research Project in 2022

1. Introduction to China-CEE Institute
China-CEE Institute, registered as a non-profit limited company in Budapest, was established by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in April 2017. China-CEE Institute aims to build ties and strengthen partnerships with academic institutions and think tanks in Hungary as well as other Central and Eastern European countries.
China-CEE Institute encourages scholars and researchers from CEE countries to carry out joint research and field studies, to (co-)organize seminars and lecture series, and to launch some training programs for students, newly established researchers, etc.
2. Call for proposal of research project in 2022
1). China-CEE Institute launches a call for proposal of research project entitled “The Relations Between China and Central and Eastern European Countries in the Changing Geopolitical Context” in 2022. The purpose of this Call is to study the development of relations between China and CEE countries in the context of post-epidemic era and Geopolitical changes. The research should shed light on the views of government, business circles, civil society, think tank, etc. Both regional and country perspectives are acceptable. The applicant is supposed to conduct questionnaire, interview or other similar empirical research methods. The Research Project is funded by China-CEE Institute
2). Applicants should be legal institution; individual researchers are not applicable;
3). Research consortia is a plus;
4). Research cooperation with Chinese academic institution is encouraged;
5). In case of Consortia, letter of intent should be provided by the all the members of Consortia
3. Submission Guidelines
1). A cover letter indicating the expertise and intention for the research
2). Letter of Intent
3). A proposal for the research with methodology, structure and output
4). A budget outlining for implementation
5). A timeline for the research
4. Time Frame
1). The deadline for submission of proposal is 20 September 2022
2). Announcement for the acceptance of the proposal will be sent out by 30 September 2022
3). The deadline for submitting final work is 31 December 2022
4. Maximum budget for each research project: 12,000 Euro
5. Outputs
Final research work in English
7. Notes
1). Manuscripts should be submitted electronically, in Word format (DOC 2010 Word format without non-standard fonts), via email
2). Manuscripts should be written in standard English. All citations and quotations should be verified before submission of the manuscript. The preferred referencing style is the American Psychological Association (APA) style

4). China-CEE Institute will sign a contract with successful applicant, and invoices should be provided before each payment
5). The intellectual property of the research project will be in the possession of China-CEE Institute
