On 8th July 2019, Professor Zhao Chen, Chief of European Diplomacy Department, Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences delivered a lecture in China-CEE Institute. Prof. Zhao Chen presented the lecture titled “China-EU Relationship in New Era”, and had an intensive discussion with researchers and students from University and research institutes in Budapest.
There are three new characters in the New Era, specifically, the co-existence of Interdependence and Geopolitics, Internationalism and Sovereignty, Globalism and Nationalism. Under these circumstances, both China and the EU have their own perspectives on China-EU relationship who share some common strategic interests and opinions each other. While the competition has also become a key word for the current China-EU Relationship and will be in the future.
