Statement
Particular Czech and Hungarian media outlets have recently mentioned the China-CEE Institute in certain pieces, making unfounded assumptions about our institute’s operations and erroneous conclusions were drawn, which may create a false impression among readers about the operation of the Institute. In this regard, our Institute declares:
The China-CEE Institute was established by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, registered on 24 April 2017 as a non-profit corporation in Budapest, Hungary. The Institute of European Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is responsible for organizing and managing it.
The China-CEE Institute will build ties and strengthen partnerships with academic institutions and think tanks in Hungary and other Central and Eastern European countries. It welcomes scholars and researchers in CEE countries to carry out joint researches, field studies, seminars and lecture series, some training programs for younger students, translation, and publication, etc.
The China-CEE Institute uses contractual methods to hire researchers from European countries, or collaborates with research institutions in Central and Eastern European countries, writes and publicly publishes the “Weekly Briefing” of Central and Eastern European countries in English, to promote understanding of their development and provides academic literature to promote in-depth study of Central and Eastern European countries in the academic community. The Hungarian National Library collects and deposits “Weekly Briefing” which is an official publication with an international ISSN number. The China-CEE Institute has standardized the format of the Weekly Briefing since 2020, and at the same time, conducted an annual quality assessment of the Weekly Briefing in accordance with academic norms, in order to encourage the authoring of higher-quality weekly briefings. The authors of the Weekly Briefing have been vocal in their support for this measure.
Simultaneously, the China-CEE Institute publishes articles and project bidding activities on a regular basis, runs academic seminars, holds online lectures, and encourages academic exchanges.
Every year, the China-CEE Institute releases an Annual Report that summarizes the previous year’s academic activities and research findings. The Annual Report is published on the China-CEE Institute’s website.
Academic institutions from Austria, Germany, France, and other countries have expressed interest in the China-CEE Institute’s academic activities. During their visits to the China-CEE Institute, certain institutions expressed their gratitude and support for our varied efforts and indicated their desire to collaborate on academic activities in the future.
We welcome constructive criticism of the China-CEE Institute from all areas of society in Europe, but we reject all misinformation. At the same time, we strongly condemn the dissemination of false news in the guise of “countering disinformation”, as well as the politicization of academic activities and attempts to repress normal academic activities through the use of media tools.
We believe that the European academic community is a knowledge community dedicated to scientific research and academic goals. We look forward to working with the European academic community to foster cultural and academic interactions between China and Europe in the future.

A közelmúltban – sajnálatos módon – egyes cseh és magyar sajtóorgánumok említést tettek a Kína-KKE Intézetről, megfogalmazva alaptalan feltételezéseket Intézetünk működésével kapcsolatban. A téves következtetések, melyeket levontak, esetlegesen hamis benyomást kelthetnek az olvasókban. Ezzel kapcsolatban az Intézetünk kijelenti:
- április 24-én a Kínai Társadalomtudományi Akadémia megalapította a Kína-KKE Intézetet, amely non-profit szervezetként van bejegyezve Budapesten, Magyarországon. Ennek megszervezéséért a Kínai Társadalomtudományi Akadémia Európai Tanulmányok Intézete volt a felelős.
A Kína-KKE Intézet partnerségi kapcsolatokat épít, mind a magyarországi, mind a közép-kelet-európai országok tudományos intézményeivel és kutatóival. Intézetünk örömmel fogad minden közép-kelet-európai országból származó tudóst, illetve kutatót, hogy közös kutatásokban, tereptanulmányokban, szemináriumokban és előadássorozatokban részt vehessen. Illetve néhány képzési programot kimondottan fiatalabb hallgatók számára biztosítunk, mint például fordítások, publikációk megjelentetése stb.
A Kína-KKE Intézet az európai országokból származó kutatókkal szerződést köt, vagy közép-kelet-európai kutató intézetekkel működik együtt. Minden ’Weekly Briefing’-et angol nyelven közzé teszünk honlapunkon, hogy ezzel is elősegítsük a kutatók szélesebb tájékozódását, fejlődését szakterületükön, valamint, hogy megfelelő szakirodalmat biztosítsunk a tudományos közösségnek.
A Magyar Széchenyi Könyvtárnak beszolgáltatási kötelezettséggel tartozunk a ’Weekly Briefing’ tekintetében, mely nemzetközi ISSN számmal rendelkező hivatalos kiadvány. A Kína-KKE Intézet 2020 óta szabványosította a Weekly Briefing formátumát, és ezzel egyidejűleg éves minőségi értékelést vezetett be az akadémia normáknak megfelelően, hogy ezzel is ösztönözze a magasabb színvonalú heti tájékoztatók készítését. A Weekly Briefing szerzői egyöntetűen támogatták ezt az intézkedést.
Fontos továbbá kiemelni, hogy a Kína-KKE Intézet rendszeresen publikál cikkeket, pályázati lehetőségeket, illetve rendszeresen tartunk szemináriumokat, online előadásokat és akadémiai csereprogramokat.
A Kína-KKE Intézet minden évben kiadja éves riportját, mely átfogó összefoglalást nyújt a megelőző év tudományos tevékenységeiről és kutatási eredményeiről. Az éves riportot a Kína-KKE Intézet a honlapján teszi elérhetővé.
A Kína-KKE Intézet tevékenysége iránt érdeklődést mutattak már kutatóintézetek Ausztriából, Németországból, valamint Franciaországból egyaránt. Intézetünkben tett látogatásuk során egyes intézetek hálájukat fejezték ki erőfeszítéseinkért és biztosítottak minket támogatásukról, valamint jelezték szándékukat a jövőbeli tudományos együttműködésre.
Örömmel fogadunk bármi jellegű építő kritikát Európából, mely Intézetünk felé irányul, azonban elutasítunk minden fajta félretájékoztatást. Ugyanakkor, határozottan elítéljük az olyan hamis hírek terjesztését, amelyek valótlanságra alapozva hamis összefüggésekre utalhatnak. Valamint elítéljük az akadémiai tevékenységek átpolitizálását és a tudományos tevékenységek média eszközökkel történő akadályozását.
Hiszünk abban, hogy az európai akadémiai közösségben maga a tudományos kutatás az akadémiai célok iránti elkötelezettséget jelenti. Nyitottak vagyunk az európai akadémiai közösséggel való együttműködésre, hogy előmozdítsuk Kína és Európa között a kulturális és akadémiai interakciókat a jövő érdekében.
